"All operators must notify at least 24 hours before drilling of well.
Spud Date refers to the minute ground is broken for well drilling.
Permits expire after one year - the operator has 15 days before one year deadline to renew permit.
If permit is renewed or cancelled, this information will appear in the APPL data field.
The permit status field will also give information in the cases of expired but never renewed permits. PPNM = Planned but Never Materialized / ORND = Operator Reported but Never Drilled.
They try to keep permits/spuds as up to date as possible. Said that the interface will become easier shortly."
