An oil slick, about 60 miles off of the coast of the Mississippi Delta was identified. The 0.29 mile wide slick of oil stretches 2.95 miles. There are no known platforms nearby. The source of the oil is unknown. The original image was taken on December 21, 2011 and was acquired from the ASAR image database of the European Space Agency. Show this Image In Google Earth.
